1:00 – 1:50 pm – Ceremony of Interconnectedness: Honoring All Species – Akbar Miller
I was very moved by an article that stated 23 species had been declared extinct in the US, this week. When Creator gave Humanity stewardship of the Earth, it was not for this result. We will explore our responsibility in caring for our Earthmother and Her creatures, and offer a meditation/ceremony honoring all life including ours.
2:00 – 2:50 pm – Guided Journey through Chakra and Shamanic Wisdom – Carolyn Nouri Qalbi Mathews
A guided meditation, combining the wisdom of yoga chakra energy centers with Native American shamanic journeying. Carolyn Nouri Qualbi provides a process of discovery and healing to deepen the alignment of mind, body and spirit.

Connecting to the Divine Feminine is important for self healing, bringing healing & balance to the world & the earth. Will teach how to connect to this energy & how to use it for self healing. MEN ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE.
4:00 – 4:50 pm – A Christian Sufi Wants to Know: Christianity and the Unity of Religions? – Shamsuddin Jim Norton
How are we to understand the Message of ‘The Unity of Religious Ideals’ of our Pir O Murshid, Hazrat Inayat Khan? What is our relationship to the spiritual tradition of our youth? Is Jesus unique in Human history? … And other sincere wonderings.

Being conscious that you are conscious while recognizing that those around you are conscious that they too are conscious. This simultaneous recognition seems to generate a palpable field that participants can share and marinate in. It is reminiscent of, “Wherever two or more are gathered…” or Rumi’s field. It seems a sacred peaceful space.

This class will offer a set of practices that incorporate breath, intention, simple movements and the prayers of Hazrat Inayat Khan to promote healing and balance in the body, heart and spirit. The class will focus on a simple morning set that participants can incorporate into their daily routine to promote health and balance. All levels of physical ability are welcome.
– Khabir’s Morning Practices – Shamsuddin Jim Norton
Honoring our Beloved Hazrat Murshid Khabir’s morning practices offered at every Midwest Camp that I can remember, we will Invoke, do wazaif, pray,do ‘tapping’, and open-eyed Zen meditation. Inshallah, I will also share a few stories from living with him to honor Our Beloved Murshid and his Faithfulness to the ‘Message’ and The Spirit of Guidance.
– Body Prayer Yoga – Lora Waduda Nur
Prayer, Asana, Mantra, and Mudra. Adding wazifa to movement and movement to prayer. A yoga mat and bolster or meditation cushion may be helpful for this practice.

Our continuing exploration of the gifts, glories, and responsibilities of our unique Midwest Sufi Community. We shall reflect on our ‘take-a-ways’ from our classes, dances, teas, and zikrs, past, present, and future.

Subtle activism meditation is an ongoing weekly practice that occurs all over the planet at exactly the same time. You are invited to join us for this special guided meditation in which we will go into deep relaxation, join our spiritual energies, and use them for healing and blessing in four directions: to ourselves, to those we know in need, to places and situations on the planet in crisis, and to the whole Earth. With great gratitude, this has been inspired by David Nicol, author of Subtle Activism.

(Please do your best to arrive by 10: 50 AM, even if this means you need to leave the previous offering early.) The deeper we look into life, the more it unfolds itself, allowing us to see more keenly. Life is revealing!

How do we live these words? I plan to share wisdom from the Japanese Tea Ceremony that I think may shed light for us on these ideals and how to live them. Plus we will work with wazifas that illuminate and activate these potentialities to make them realities.
2:00 – 2:50 pm – Tea in the Heart Space – Buraq Olson and Nur Alia Liz Pfeiffer
This class will explore the purification ritual in tea. We will touch on purification using breath and light in the heart space. This practice of hospitality, service and blessing can be used in everyday life with family, friends and community. In preparation for the class, please bring a small bowl or cup filled with water, tea, or another beverage to bless and drink during this class. You are invited to attend this class in silence with a spacious heart.

Some of our favorite Saints of Service will be highlighted across several spiritual traditions. We will explore the forms of service in the Sufi Tradition-historical to current. We will have the opportunity to explore with one another in break out groups how we feel about serving our communities, how easily we can serve, what ideas of service have yet to be met in our communities.

Musings with Sheikh Firdousi! Our Beloved Sheikh is traveling out West. Thus, we have no exact description, but we know his offering will reflect the awesome inspiration of The Spirit of Guidance.
