Fall Online Schedule

Below is the schedule for Fall 2020 Virtual Ozark Camp. All times are listed in Central Time.

Friday, October 9

5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Entering and Sharing Presence with Rahimah Sweeney and Amin Marty Kraft

We will explore the inquiring into the thoughts, impressions, and feelings that arise in consciousness that we attach to. How do we lessen the attachment? How do we work together to lessen the attachment? How do we hold this presence awareness and stay detached, with a space between who we think we are and our true self? How do we think and process while maintaining presence? There will be some descriptive words followed by a demonstration, then working in pairs together, and then returning to the larger group and letting the presence developed guide us all from within.

Class: Tuning the Heart – Taming the Mind with Nuria Sabato

Sympathy and compassion, like water, spread in time. It will expand like the water of the ocean, and become an everlasting spring continually rising and flowing with love. This class will be supported with spiritual practice and conversation.

12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Kids Camp with Lori Thweatt and friends

Families and friends of all ages are invited to join us for the Kid’s Camp Play! It’s all happening HERE!

2:00 to 3:15 p.m.

Class: See No Stranger with Satya Grunthaner

As Sufis, we believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and love. But it can be difficult to honor this when differences in appearance, beliefs, experience, or actions seem threatening to our identity or safety. To practice extending our love and compassion from our inner circles to our adversaries, we will do a loving-kindness meditation and honor those who evoke the most anger and fear in us. May this help strengthen our hearts’ ability to see no stranger and actively invest in a unified family of humanity with courageous vulnerability and humility.

4:00 to 5:15 p.m.

Class: Enfolding the World in Love with Firdousi Wyrick

This class will focus on practices for reaching out in the time separation and exclusion.

7:30 to 9:15 p.m.

Evening Program: Aramaic Lord’s Prayer and Zikr with Munira Reed, Firdousi Wyrick, and friends

The Aramaic Lord’s Prayer dance cycle is a journey of the heart through the prayer of Yeshua/Jesus in his original Aramaic language. During this journey, we experience the mysticism of Jesus’ original prayer tradition of living creation, a tradition that reminds us that new beginnings happen every moment in the Heart of the Divine. The evening will also include Sufi Zikr led by Firdousi.

9:30 to 10:15 p.m.

Porch Singing with Hakima Greentree and friends

Join us for a heart-centered singalong featuring favorite songs from the Dances of Universal Peace and others. Find your harmony, express yourself, and get a taste of the cherished Ozark Camp back porch jam sessions in this informal song circle.

Sunday, October 11

9:00 to 9:45 a.m.

Healing Ritual of Hazrat Inayat Khan with Sarfaraz Knight

Healing for Humanity:  We will be praying for planetary healing in this session. Our collective Self is so strong. May our Healing Service be of benefit for all Beings!

10:15 to 11:00 a.m.

Sacred Movement Celebration with Radha Distlehorst

Explore moving from the “voice that comes from within” to music that celebrates many faith traditions. All expressions of joy are welcome to dance, clap or nod along! Zoom room opens at 10 a.m. for warming up.

(This session flows into the next.)

Universal Worship with Malika Lyon and friends

To start the morning, we will attune with ecstatic music for dancing (or listening) from DJ Radha. Transitioning with Omkar on the handpan, we will come into an informal, non-traditional Universal Worship service, featuring an altar of the heart. Familiar beloveds from far and wide will light the candles in their own spaces, as they share the light of the sacred traditions in ways that are meaningful for them. Other dear friends will lead us in prayers and in singing the Kalama. Please join us.

12:15 to 12:30 p.m.

Closing Circle with Gayan Galik and friends
