Health, Wellness, and Safety
Ozark Sufi Camp requests that all attendees take a COVID test prior to arriving at camp. Many of our practices require close contact with each other, including holding hands and facing towards each other while signing. We take COVID tests to ensure we are protecting our elderly and immune compromised community members. When you arrive at camp, please go to the registration table to read and sign our Community Health and Safety Agreement stating that you have self-administered a COVID test that showed a negative test result.
If anyone in your party arrives at camp with contagious symptoms or begins to feel sick while at camp, please report your symptoms to the Camp Manager and leave camp immediately.
Photo and Video Policy
At camp, we request that no one take pictures or video of Dances or Zikrs in the Zikr Hall, or of any other group classes or practices.
Parents must give permission for Kids Camp-aged children or younger to be photographed. Thank you for your cooperation with this policy. Please refrain from posting photos or videos on social media websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, TikTok, etc., without the permission of every person who is identifiable in the photo or video.
Camp Tithes
Healing Temple
Healing practitioners may offer services for pay, for barter, for trade, or for free (as they choose). Practitioners who charge for services are asked to tithe 10% of their income to the camp. Healing practitioners who charge for services must be licensed/certified if these credentials exist for their modality, so please bring your credentials to camp if you plan to charge for services.
Bazaar
If you wish to sell goods in the daily Bazaar, we request a tithe of 10% of gross sales, payable before you leave. The Bazaar is normally open in the space below the dining hall during the free time after lunch for anyone who would like to market their wares.
State Park Group Camp Regulations
For your safety, illegal substances and alcohol are prohibited. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas (along the road). There is no smoking outside the Zikr hall.
Please do not park on the grass!
Kids Camp Guidelines
- Your children are your responsibility at all times except within the confines of Kids Camp during the official Kids Camp program hours.
- Children under five are welcomed at Kids Camp with an accompanying parent or guardian.
- During Kids Camp hours, your children aged 5 – 12 will be under our staff’s supervision.
- Rule of three: children are not allowed to roam around alone by themselves at any time.
- Do not drive away from the group campgrounds or go to town without appropriate adult supervision in place for your child.
- Touch base often throughout the day with your children.
- Lake safety: swim at your own risk. Children are not allowed near the lake without a supervising adult.
- Protocol for drop off and pick up: If parents do not pick up their kids on time, children left at Kids Camp will be brought to the lunch or dinner circles by our staff. Evening Kids Camp ends promptly at 10 p.m. At that time, children who have not been picked up will be brought to the main hall to find you.
- Children will be expected to help keep our camp running smoothly.
- Practice kindness.
